WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

Presenting Your Information:
Each group will turn in a three to four page research paper, 11 pt. type, with 1.5 line spacing. Be sure to cite all sources of your research. I will go over the papers with each group and discuss your findings with you. Don't forget that each of the roles in the groups must work together to synthesize the information you have collected into the final research paper.
After the research paper is approved, you will design a brochure or poster to present to other high school students with the information you have collected. Creativity is encouraged, but content is essential.
Evaluation of Your Work:
Your research paper will be graded on the following:
accurate, in-depth, current information from multiple sources
proper spelling and grammar use
page format followed (11 pt., 1.5 line spacing, maximum 1.25" margins)
cover page and reference list (cite all resources)
Your individual task performance will be graded on the following:
questionnaire filled out by each group member, including yourself
my observations of your in-class work on the project
your progress meetings with me (2)
the rough draft of your individual research (can be neatly handwritten, a work in progress, due at the second progress meeting)
Your brochure or poster will be graded on the following:
genuine effort
aimed toward target group (high school teens)
The paper and task grades will be numeric, whereas the brochure/poster grade will be pass/fail. I want you to have fun when creating the brochure/poster, but do not feel that you need to spend too much money or invest all of you spare time in it. I have arranged to have a display set up in the school lobby for the posters and brochures (I will have copies made of the brochures for students to take).
